ABSOLUTELY!
No slight to Europe intended.
The point was that the U.S. is one country, with a composite culture, as opposed to many cultures in that sized area.... Bottom line was simply to illustrate differences, and point out that each of us is probably the "duty expert" on our own culture and area, so we should probably not try to debate each other on these subjects!
Also, Russian east of the Urals is supposedly Europe too, isn't it?
